The new camera – Lytro

While cameras have become very much affordable and also easy to use, a good photographer has to decide where he wants to focus while shooting. Very often professional photographers do not have the time to decide that, for they may be shooting an action sport, dynamic wildlife etc. But that is the thinkg of the past. Here comes Lytro.
There is no need to focus. The camera captures the entire visible light field and you can focus on different planes using the accompanying software. Simple? The technology is not so. The product is amazing and comes at a price of $399 and $499 depending on the memory.
Windows users .. have to wait more time. A Mac is needed for using the software. Shipping is noe restricted to USA. Preordering is on. Check out the Lytro site

I had similar thoughts when i first came across the lytro.
I also, surprisingly, followed thru' with an order. The camera arrived last month.
I was disappointed with the look/feel, the quality of the image, size (inches and pixels) of the image, and other lack of control provided to a wannabe-professional-but-otherwise-amateur photographer.
I finally returned it.
I still think, the avatar once altered, can propel this technology to great use.
